cell value only may contains number and letters

Hi,

I am looking for help to get an VBA code. I can't find on the internet exactly what I am looking for, so I hope anyone can help me with this.

In a range (C17:C112) can be enter a text or number or both, but may not contain other characters. When a cell contain a character like * or / a message have to be shown.

I don't know a code that can check which character is used.

Please can anyone help me which sort of code I have to use?
