    Selecting a worksheet easily.

(Excel 2003). I have a worksheet "LIST" which contains contiguous stock data of many stocks. I have written a macro that cuts blocks of data out of "LIST" and creates anywhere up to 255 worksheets depending on how many stocks are listed. Each worksheet is named after a unique stock code.

This macro works fine, but I want to find a nice way of easily selecting any particular worksheet without having to scroll through the worksheet tabs at the bottom. I was thinking of creating a drop down list of all the worksheets. Is it possible to access worksheets like this, or are there better ways?

    Hi gregga,

Just right-click on the navigation buttons at the bottom left of any workbook and click on the desired tab to select (go to) it.

No idea of your requirements but instead of separate tabs have you thought of just filtering the data in the LIST tab?

    Regards,

    Robert

Thanks Robert, I was not aware of that function, it should work fine for what I need to do. Nice not to have to re-invent the wheel in a macro.

The reason I have split the data from one worksheet into several worksheets is to plot price points as a point & figure chart, which is a type of charting in stockmarket technical analysis. Although Excel cells are not usually used directly for graphical purposes, in this case it is ideal.

Not sure what you mean there as all data, regardless of its purpose is stored in cells. All the charts I do are linked to cells

Though I'd say there would have to be a more efficient way than to have 255 separate tabs, as long as it's working I suppose that's the main thing. I'm glad we were able to solve your issue.
