Hi,
I am interested in doing the following:
Look up column # that has a value, for example, Column D has a value at Row 6. So on cell B6, I want to search all of row 6 and find out that Column D has the value.
Thank you for your help!

after column B, you want to search column D's value in entire row 6...... correct?for example, Column D has a value at Row 6. So on cell B6, I want to search all of row 6 and find out that Column D has the value.

Basically, column c through colum f has a value. Only one column has a value, and I want to find out which column that is.
Okay.. try using below formula:-

enter this with key combination: ctrl shift enter.

That wont work. I'm not sure how many columns there are or their reference. C through f was just a hypothetical.
Okay... then instead of typing {3,4,5,6},{"c","d","e","f"} in the formula, you can reference the full list after typing them in a column
But yes.. somewhere you need to type the column name as for excel column a is 1 and column b is 2 and so on. Thanks.

Thank you, that's just what I needed. One more question, what if now I want to reference that column and row 1. Example, column d row 6 has a value. And now in cell b6 I want to display the value that's in column d (column with value) and row 1. Hope this makes sense. The inverter for my laptop blew out otherwise I would post an example of what I'm trying to do.
Solved it using index formula!
Thanks Aladin for getting me started.
You are welcome.
