Using a pull down menu in a macro

    Hi
I want to use a pull down menu to chose a room name and then use the relevant room name to be copied to a text filter
Obviously I want to use different results to be copied to the text filter
    Any suggestions

    Thanks

    Peter

    Hi Peter

Are you talking about a userform or a list on a worksheet?

All you need is data validation.

place your list of rooms in your workbook

select the cell you want to link to that list

select the data tab at the top of excel
    select data validation
    select "choose from a list"
then select the area where your list is.

if your list is on another sheet then you will need a formula like

Re: Using a pull down menu in a macro

    Sorry Mehmet

    I guess I didn't explain very well..

I am looking at a worksheet containing survey data for a building
The data is covers numerous rooms across a number of floors.
I want to use a macro which uses the text filter function, with the text being chosen from a pull down menu i.e. the text would be different and the macro would need to be able to allow for varying text input

    Regards

    Peter

    Ok

You will need to detail exactly what you need. Perhaps with a sample and then I will willingly create a macro for you.

Re: Using a pull down menu in a macro

    Hi Mehmet
I have attached a worksheet to demonstrate what I am trying to do:
Buttons Ground Floor to Fourth Floor, filter the rooms by floor and provide the relevant pull down menu
As a second step, I then want to use the room selected from the pull down menu to carry-out a second filter command on the data to show only the results relating to a particular room

    Thanks for your help

    Peter
