    Find Copy and Replace Macro

    Hi guys,

i'm extremely new with Macros but i just wondered if someone could help with a problem which i need completed urgently,

basically i have around 4000 i.d fields which need updating and to do this manually would take a long time so im looking for a way to complete the following action:

COPY "M2" Find "N2" , then paste "M2" into the 'left' field of the search result (the search will find a field in the C column however i want the M2 to be pasted into the B column to the left of the result), is this possible at all?

i have 4000ish of these so i need the macro to then do M3, M4, M5 ect..

    thank you,

sorry for my basic understanding of these but any help would be so appreciated.

    Stephen

    Hello stephenlawes,

    Welcome to the Forum!

To better understand your problem, it would help if you attach your workbook for review. Please include some before and after examples of what you the macro to do.
    To Post Your Workbook
    1. At the bottom right of the Reply window, Click the button Go Advanced
    2. At the top of the Your Message Window, in the first row of icons, Click the Paperclip icon.
    3. Click the Add Files button at the top right in the dialog box. This displays the File Manager dialog.
    4. Click the Select Files button at the bottom middle of the dialog.
    5. In the new window Find the file you want to upload, select it, and Click Open.
    6. You will now be back in the File Manager dialog. Click the bottom Middle button Upload File.
    7. Wait until the file has completely uploaded before you exit the File Manager dialog.

    File Manger Picture
    Sincerely,
    Leith Ross

Re: Find Copy and Replace Macro

Hi its a little hard to show you examples however i have attached the spreadsheet,

my main goal is to find the titles listed in the N Column within the B Column and replace that title within the B Column with the item i.d to the left of the title in the N Column if that makes sense?

    thank you.

(ps ive had to half the data as its too big to upload to this website)

    Hello stephenlawes,

Thanks for the workbook. I still have questions about how this is supposed to work. How many matches are needed between the cells in "C" and "N" before the data is copied? Is there a special meaning to the forward slash "/" in cell C2? Is this character to be searched for?
