    deleting a line based on data in a previous line

    I receive files that contain records and subsets within these records. What I am in need of is a MACRO that will look at the lines that begin with:
    NM1*85
    Each of these lines also contains an entry of:
    XX*
    The XX is then followed by a ten digit number

    Within the subset of records are lines that begin with:
    NM1*82
    These lines also contain the XX* entry followed by a ten digit number.

    I need to delete any NM1*82 line within the subset if the ten digit number in that line matches the NM1*85 line at the beginning of the subset.


    These files contain more than one subset starting NM1*85 line and each subset needs to be addressed individually.
