Record the name or identity of the person who has edited the excel

Hi,
I have an excel file which is edited by 5 different people. I would like to know who has edited the file at what time and date.
The track changes option though give me this, i would like to have a separate file in excel that captures who edited before closing the file.

not quite what you are after but one way I track it is by tracking the person who last exits the sheet

do you have a folder called C:\Track

?

If not create one, or change the path to somewhere that does exist on your network

I could what it captures. But i want is, say there are 3 sheets (1,2 & 3) and there is another sheet 4. I edit data in any sheet between 1 to 3 and close the excel sheet. Just before closing , who ever edited the data his/her name and time should be updated in sheet 4. So when i see after a month all the people you edited can be seen.

any changes made in any sheets (except sheet4) will be logged in sheet4.

In case if i want only changes in Sheet 1 to be reflected in Sheet 4, what changes i should do to the code?

replace the "ThisWorkbook" module with this

just so you know, all I did was change one line (the 6th line)

to

and added an End if at the bottom of the sub.

Now only changes to Sheet1 will be tracked.
