Remove duplicate address rows but retain spouse name

I have a spreadsheets of 4000 names and addresses. There are about 800 where there are spouses listed each on a row. I want to run a macro or apply a formula that will merge the 2nd spouse first name and and an ampersand into the first spouse record for First name and then delete the rest of the row. I am able to open VBA and insert a new module but I am not very proficient at VBA. Thanks,

    Dan

LASTNAME FIRSTNAME MIDDLENAME POCITY POSTATE ZIPCODE
ABBOTT GLENN THERON 1675 EDGEWATER ST MUSKEGON MI 49441
ABBOTT KARIN JANINE 1675 EDGEWATER ST MUSKEGON MI 49441

So in your spreadsheet, how do you know that Karin is the wife of Glenn? Because the address is the same? For example, if Karin Janine Abbott had a different address, it would be safe to assume they were not husband and wife, correct?

To clarify, in your example, you wish to modify Glenn's record, so it looks like this:

ABBOTT GLENN & KARIN THERON 1675 EDGEWATER ST MUSKEGON MI 49441

and then delete Karin's record completely, correct?

Finally, your columns, as indicated, go from middlename to pocity. Don't you have an ADDRESS column? (The address column would probably be column 4, and that column would be the one to check for husband and wife, since you could easily have two unrelated Abbot's both living in Muskegon.)
