    hi,
i have an issue as i want to search the data by putting the date difference. i am attaching the file. lets say for example: i want the interactions between the date 20th feb,2013 till 20 th may 2013 ,then i shall be able to get the complete rows seen in sheet named "search".

    Hi,

Are you perhaps misunderstanding how this forum operates? Everyone contributes freely of their own time. No one is paid (Commercial Services Forum excepted) and there is no service level agreement.

You have reported the first response you received - twice in fact. Your last comment 'please consider' might have been construed in the wrong way and lead to the responder and others deciding not to respond.

Have you read the forum rules and missed the comment that:-

"If your question has not been answered within a day, consider adding another post with any additional information you believe is relevant. If you think your post is good as is, just reply to your own thread with the words "Bump no response", which will bring it to the top of the forum."

I suggest you try that first.

    Richard,
"Everyone contributes freely of their own time. No one is paid (Commercial Services Forum excepted) and there is no service level agreement".

    Well said!
Infact, I will include this statement on the top screen with other re-minders, so posters will not use words like "urgent" for free services. It annoys me when some people use expression like " I need this urgently"
The admin of this site may consider filtering threads which have theses words and those thread should go auto in to the fee section.

Re: how to get the data with date difference.

You are making the same mistake that I see time and time again. You are mixing up the two elements of data capture and final reporting. The two require quite different treatments.

A lot of people start by designing the form that they expect to see as the final report, and then wonder why it's so difficult to subsequently analyse and summarise or extract information from it, Yours exhibits all those features.

You should always capture data in a simple two dimensional table and worry about reporting information from it afterwards. Without exception doing this you will always be able to easily obtain management information. Rarely is this the case if you start the other way round.
You will also throw open the whole wonderful world of the powerful Pivot table functionality.

I suggest you consider redesigning your basic data so that everything goes on a single sheet. You will need to add additional columns to hold things like the client name/code, and if there is fixed information for each client, like Classification, Category, Address etc., hold this in a separate table for each client.

Finally if this is a complete commercial business application as it appears, consider putting it in the Commercial Services forum and paying a modest charge for it.
