    running Macro on non-macro enabled file

    Doesan excel file have to be a macro enabled file to runa macro on it, but not save the macro in the file?

    It will run as long as your have your macro trust center settings set to do so. The file won't get a macro enabled file extension until you save it. It won't save anything in the VBE if its not macro enabled.
