New to Forms-Is it possible to avoid having a Form treated as System Modal?

I have a friend who is using a XLSM with forms in it. He wants to open another Excel file while entering the form but he can't because Forms appear to be System Modal?

(Yes he can get around it with that trick of opening Excel again and dragging the 2nd file onto the new workbook but he wants to know why you can't "just open another Excel file normally while you have the 1st Excel file open"!)

Is it possible to edit the Form code to allow another Excel file to be opened while the Form is open?

I'm not really sure I understand but if you want to open another workbook just use something like

My friend wants to open a 2nd Excel file (from Windows Explorer) while the 1st WB (the one with the form) is open. He can't do this while the Form is open.

(I didn't mean using Workbooks.Open - his only knowledge of VBA is what you can record/playback with Macro Recorder)

    Modeless? Never heard of it.

(Googles). Ah! That's the solution I was looking for.

(It seems that it doesn't work the way it should in Excel 2013? http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/For...a-20bbec917338 This friend & I both use Excel 2010 so it wont be a problem for now)
