can a macro work in parallel with an addon

I'm trying to get the last values from columns that are being filled by an excel addon, excelinx. First off, i'd like to know if this sounds at all possible.
The Excelinx addon works with a data acquisition system, filling columns with temperature values from several sensors. I would like to take the newest value from each column, copy it to a new sheet, from where a macro will send it to a database, while new values are being recorded. Will the macro be in conflict with the add-in?
The reason for copying to a new sheet is that i'd like to send averages of a few values, for each column, rather than every value.
