UserForm / Visual Keys / conversion of selected string part to symbols according to ws x

convert selected part of string_a.xlsmhello every one,

hope you all are doing well. I have to edit a wordlist of an asian language and need to type transcription for a large number of words. I will be very thankful if some one could help me out by making me a userform for Excel which makes the Job easier.

My wordlist is in WS "wordlist" where column D contains meanings and explanations. Now i need to trancribe some parts of Text in Column D (not whole cell but selected parts of it). I would like to select a part of text in a cell in Column D and then the code should converted it according to conversion table from ws "conversion". The converted text part should then be pasted infront of original selected part in {}. For example:

Column D Cell Content = "first word; second word" and now if i select "first word" from it and push the button "convert" in Userform, it should give me following result:
"first word{ÄÇÐÑÒ ÕÍÐÂ}; second word"Attachment 240146

The userform should also have visual keys through which i can then make corrections in generated symbols.

Hi Julia81,

i have a half solution for your Problem. Gabor, a helpful member of this Forum had once helped me in a similar problem. I applied some pieces of his code to your dummy table.
Two Problems are yet to be solved. Unfotunately I cant solve them.

1) I can read whole cell and convert it according your table but not part of a string inside the cell. I dont know how to solve it.
2) The visualkeys always put the Symbol/letter behind them at the end of the string and not there where the Cursor blinks.

May be someone else in the Forum can help you out with These two issues. I am not sure if it is possible at all!?

thank you very much for your help. You really have solved a part of my Problem and I hope that there is also a solution for the two Points you have mentioned.

can any one tell, if it is possible to copy and process part of a string (through selecting it) inside a cell?
