What is better hiding template sheets or hard coding them???

I want to programme a button that will create a new Survey sheet, it will be a set template that will then import certain information from an external file. what is the best approach to have a hidden template sheet and replicate that and change the title and such. or Is it better to hard code the whole thing?

    Thanks

It depends on how complicated the template is.

If you create it once and hide it, so that its copied and changed as required, then you can easily make any edits at a later stage.

If its hard coded, you may face issues while editing the code, more so if you do not know vba.

Can you post your code here or the file you are using after removing confidential data?

If you want to post a file -

    1. Click on Go Advanced
    2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
    3. Click the button.
    4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
    5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
    6. This will open a new window File Upload.
    7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
    8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
    9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
    10. Close the window and then click Submit.

Talking Re: What is better hiding template sheets or hard coding them???

Ive attached a rough copy, my code is minimal to be honest as not sure how to refer to the newly copied sheet.

The idea is when you click new survey from the front sheet it will ask you to input a start year, say "2014". that then inputs the copied template sheet named "2014" condition survey. and it also changes the title on the sheet. the other part is to import the first two columns from the front sheet into the new sheet as they are subject to change year by year but the template would be the same.

I would appreciate any assistance, I think I can figure most things out but would love a head start

    Thanks

import Condition Survey - edit for forum.xlsm
