How to activate a cell on clicking a radio button in Excel?

    Hi all,
I have a radio button with YES/NO option.
What I require is that another cell gets activated/highlighted ONLY when radio button YES is clicked, and not when radio button No is clicked.
    For example:

    Capture.JPG

Refering to this image, I want that when i click on YES radio button , "Which Brand" field gets activated/highlighted asking for user input. However, if I click NO, then nothing happens.

I've tried searching for its solution at various sites, but in vain. Any help will be really appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi, Scofield24,

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

    Hi Debraj,

    Thanks for ur reply.

I shud have made myself clearer. Referring to the sheet provided by you. Is it possible to keep the background color of "Then why image" cell = white in all cases(including radio_button_click=NO)? I mean the background color shud be "colored" only when radio_button_click=YES ?

Re: How to activate a cell on clicking a radio button in Excel?

create 2 option buttons from the forms tool bar
right click one of them/format control/control tab
in linked cell choose a cell behind the button in that example c4
then put a group box from the forms tool bar around them it looks like a box with xyz at the top
edit text on buttons and group box to what you want
set white font on cell c4 you may have to drag the buttons out of the way to get to it put them back after
now when buttons are clicked c4 says 1 for yes 2 for no but you cant see it
just us conditional formating in any cell you want to change use formula option that says =$c$4=1 pick a background colour
then another rule using formula option again that says =$c$4=2 white font
you can see this if you go to the Home tab, and click Conditional Formatting manage rules
then select whole sheet and in protection check unlocked
now select e2 where we put the text and lock it and check hidden then once sheet is protected you cant change or see what's in that cell /the user will only see it when yes is selected
