    Question Hiding Only Select sheets

Hey, I want to create a 'master sheet" with the names or descriptions of 'devices' and properties of each. There will be corresponding sheets for each device (actually equipment types) that contain data specific to only that device.

What i would like to accomplish is to select a device name from master sheet and then hide all other sheets that do not meet that name/description, thus allowing me to see only the 'specs' that are needed... this also hides other data from wandering eyes of those who may want look on.

OR create a drop-down listing each device and accomplish the same hiding of sheets as described above.

    Any help? Thx in advance

I think you need it the other way round. Hide all the sheets except the master & on clicking open th e required sheet. Use the Worksheet_SelectionChange event. This will work on a list in column A

    Hope that helps.

    Cool Wondering

Thanks, Roy. I'm too old and feeble to catch on the first time, so let me make sure i understand your reply.

When opening the workbook, ONLY the Master sheet will be open, then when I select "Magnetron", then the corresponding sheet will open. Is that correct? (assuming of course that list is in col A as you said).

    Thanks from an OLD newbie,
    Jerry

That's right Jerry, hide the other worksheets. The sheet names will need to be in the list. Have a go and post back if you need more help.

    Hi Jerry,
Try this to hide sheets. Insert a picture of component on master sheet... say in this example sheet"b"

'You can continue adding sheet list.

This will hide the sheets that you want.
You can then modify the code / combine it with another to get any desired results...
