Create Link between column from two sheet

Hi,

What is the process to follow to link a column from one sheet (Data) with another column from other sheet (update).

If I will make a single click on any ID from sheet (Data) , then automatically the linker will go to sheet (update). search matching ID. If found, display the result of column 2 in update sheet.

If I click on 'PHFR2012GB006089' from sheet (Data),
Result to be displayed:- 'Case number PHFR2012GB006089 is a spontaneous initial report received from a RAVI'

Is it possible without using macro and vlook up process

Hi Abraham,

I think you are going to need VBA to do what you want. I try to use Double Click instead of a single click, as there is no event triggered from simply selecting a cell. See the attached that has code to do what I think you are looking for. It is very fundamental and needs error code and lots of improvement, but may help you understand Event Code and VBA.

Thanks for your help.

If I am clicking on ID of B8, B9, B10 et from sheet data, still the linker get stick at A3 of sheet update although the ID in both columns are not matching.

If the ID will match, then only the linker fire . Unless it will stick to the original sheet.
