Excel 2010 -- "Visual Basic" "Macros" and "Record Macro" all disabled.

    Hello,

so I'm not sure if this belongs in Excel General? but I have excel 2010 for PC and my "Visual basic" "macros" and "Record Macro" buttons are all greyed out. The developer tab is (of course) up, and under macro security I have "enable all macros" allowed, and I've opened a completely new workbook -- this isn't a workbook specific issue, all of them.

    any ideas?

Somewhere in the configuration options during the install I hadn't selected (it seems to be unselected by default?) to install/enable "Visual Basic For Applications."

I just ran the setup.exe again and when I was selected programs to install, there was a section where I could select to install VBA.

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features
Select Microsoft Office and click Change
Configuration window appears click Add or Remove Features checkbox -> continue
Installation Options window appears and under Office Shared Features find Visual Basic for Application
Click down arrow and click "Run from My computer" ->continue

It was answered by NicholasL but didn't specify exactly where the option was
