Trouble with Macros in Excel 2010

    Hey all,

I am in a bit of a transition between 2007 and 2010. I generated a spreadsheet with Macros in 2007 and cannot get 2010 to allow me into the VBA editor. I have enabled the developer tab and can see the spot to get to the Macro editor but it is grayed out and it will not allow me in. Any ideas?

    Thanks!
    Nick

Re: Trouble with Macros in Excel 2010

I tried setting it to "Allow All Macros" but nothing changed so I changed the macro security back to "Disable with Notification". When I open my spreadsheet with the macros, the following error: "Excel found unreadable content in 'Monthly Revenue v1_5.xlsm'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click yes."
Obviously, when I click Yes it pops up a dialogue box that says,

"Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content.
Removed Part: /xl/vbaProject.bin part. (Visual Basic for Applications (VBA))"

I am reading this to mean that Excel 2010 is saying that it was able to open the spreadsheet (which seems to work fine other than the Macros) but only after removing VBA. Am I off here?

This is for a business laptop computer and I don't know if they can license Excel without VBA as a security precaution?

Does anyone know if Excel is licensed without Macro capability for security reasons?

As it turns out I was right. The corporate office shipped this excel with some portions locked. Genius. Thanks for the help!
