Excel macro- Find replace an itallic font word with a regular word?

Hello, I am new to macros. I have 0 knowledge of what i am doing, if it were possible i'd have -10 knowledge. :P

I'd would appreciate it if the more knowledgeable excel community could assist me with the problem i am trying to find an easy solution for.

Suppose there is a column with ~10,000 entries {rows}, suppose the text therein is something like did max go to a party, followed by did max find the bear under the rug and etc. etc. Suppose i wish to replace all instances of max with max while leaving the rest of the text italicized (e.g. did max find the bear under the rug)

Is this possible to perform with a macros? Or am i doomed to manually slogging through this for the rest of my life?

-Thank you all for reading and any assistance you can provide

    thisisaboutwork,

    Welcome to the forum!
Give this a try. Be sure to change the rngSearch Column from "A" to the correct column letter. Then when you run the macro, it will prompt you for what to look for. Using your example you would type in "max" (no quotes) and it will then make sure that all italicized instances of what you typed in (max) will no longer be italicized, even if the word appears multiple times in the same cell.
