Maintain data on one sheet and sort on another

Hi, I am the scoring with a club

I have a problem I am trying to get my head around for a competition. Sheet 1 is is the INPUT screen where results for eight competitors are recorded in competitor order and totalled. Sheet 2 is the RANKING screen where the results recorded need to be sorted by score to show current rank....I can do it manually but would like to automate the process.

Hi Nicky....Yes I have used the RANK function then VLOOKUP to sort...problem is when VLOOKUP finds equal rank it throws an error. Hoping someone has a better mousetrap.

Alway control+Shift+Enter the formula in Sheet2 otherwise you get#VALUE

Can somebody explain why this works?

I like the results and would like to exploit the technique, but I don't quit get what is going on to make it happen.
