    save:Automatic Backup

    Hello,

Is there a macro that automatically saves a backup of your spreadsheet every week?

    Thanks,

    Suzanna

Microsoft Excel MVP, Jan Karel Pieterse has an add-in that should do just that for you. It is available from here with a description of what it does (you are looking on this page for AutoSafe), or download it direct from here. Full instructions are included.

    Hi Suzanne,

You can use the following in the Workbook open event to save the workbook at 5.00 pem every day

Please Login or Register to view this content.
where "my_save_macro" is a module level procedure which has the code to save the workbook.

Don't forget that Excel automatically saves an auto recover version of the file determined by the settings in the Tools>Options>Save tab.

    Re: save:Automatic Backup

    Hi Richard
Is it possible to do the same with the date?
I am trying to setup something that backups an Excel file every year, more specifically the 31st of August each year. And I would like to have that back file saved in another folder.

I would be very grateful if you can help me out.

    Thanks
    Angsome
