    sendkeys statement

    i've understood that the sendkeys statement can mimic user typed characters like type your username and password..

    now, i created a macro that will launch outlook (I have 2010) so i can send an email.. the problem is that, if havent opened outlook 2010 yet, the macro does open a new email screen, but will ask for a password (btw out outlook does ask for a pw everytime) ...
    the rest of the code works except for the part where the sendkeys statement comes into play

    Please Login or Register to view this content.
    the characters above makes my password... now i tried just "{ESC}" and it does show the mail screen, but, it doesnt send it..

    any better ideas??

    Where exactly is this password request coming from in Outlook?
    If posting code please use code tags, see here.

    Re: sendkeys statement

    it just pops up before outlook is launched. I'm working inside an office, and they set up outlook to ask for a password everytime we log in.. so if there hasnt been an instance of the outlook application launched, when the macro is run, it will ask for a password..

    So is this some sort of userform that's been created, not a built-in dialog from Outlook.

    no its not created.. it looked like its built-in from outlook.. we're using a domain for outlook (apac) and its a security feature.

    Re: sendkeys statement

    I'm pretty sure Outlook has an "always prompt for logon creditentials" option somewhere but can't remember where offhand.

    Edit-> It's in email accounts - settings - security.

    It also has a logon network security option there.

    Not sure if this is what the OP has but I'd assume it's the same box that pops-up
