Re: need Google Translate in Excel 2003

See if this workbook helps, it's an old one I have added the five Indic languages that I know google translate now supports.

The code list perhaps isn't fully up to date if you want to add more languages I have missed, just add to the list in Sheet "Codes".

To use this select the language you want to use from the drop-downs in Sheet "Translator" Column A.

Enter the text you want in Column B, in the chosen language.
Keep this as short as possible google will not translate whole books in one go, unless you use the paid services, or a subscribed ap.

Select the language you want returned from the dropdowns in E2:H2, This is dragable so you can have as many conversions as you might need.

Re: need Google Translate in Excel 2003

The sheet is working properly, if Google Translate can't find a translation then it returns the same as was requested.

Peoples names, will always be a problem, as will village names.

Google works on the volume of entries it finds in its' database so there is not enough data on less common names for it to find a match with any certainty.

Try entering New Delhi, or any well known city, say London then you should get the desired answer.
