Unhappy Maximum data availability time period considering data gaps...

    Hello All,
I have monthly groundwater levels obtained from 170 wells over a time period of January-1998 till December-2011 for a specific region. But in many cases the readings or data is missing. So I need to decide for which time period maximum data is available. So that I can use only that time period and data from only those wells to get the optimum results from further analysis.
So could you please help me with this problem?
    Thanks in advance !!
    Best wishes,
    Jasmin

Define 'time period'. What type of sample size do you need?

    As in a single column?
    Thanks,
    Solus

    Thanks for your reply.

In this case, I am looking for time period of any 5 consecutive years in which maximum data is available. And the results should be in ascending or descending order in single column.
    eg. 2000 - 2004,
    1998 - 2002,
    2007 - 2011,
