    Formulas Not Pasting

    Hi,

I have a workbook consisting of 1 summary page and 22 additional (branch specific) pages. I have simple formulas in the summary page that are supposed to reference specific fields in the subsequent pages that I receive individually via email. Since the summary page has to be updated periodically, my intention is that when I receive one of the individual pages via email, ideally I would just copy and paste these pages into each tab and the formulas from the summary page would then reference the information needed.

I've made sure that the formulas are all correct and referencing the correct cells and I've even refreshed the data in both the summary page and subsequent pages but it still doesn't work. The formula is just a simple reference formula (=destination page!destination cell). Is there something else I can do to make this work?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've attached my workbook and I've I've inserted "Atlanta" which returns the formula errors on the summary page.

    Hi amber

Save your workbook before trying this. Don't change the name of "BUSA Org Chart Summary P7 2013 ".

By pasting over your existing data you are breaking the links in the formulae and corrupting them.

The Freeze macro below freezes all your formulae by converting them to text. Unfreeze restores them.

Try freezing your workbook before pasting your data. and then unfreezing it.

I assume you know how to run a macro.

[ Click on developer, then on macro, select the macro, click on run. ]

    Good Luck.

    Hi and Thank you!

Your code partially worked. As a test, I froze my workbook, deleted the Atlanta tab, re-inserted it and unfroze the workbook. The information populated the Atlanta table of the summary page perfectly but then the tables for some of the other branches on underneath (which I didn't touch) seemed to stay frozen (in text form) (All the tables on the right were also fine).

Should I have added something to your coding or could it be the way my cell is formatted (although I double checked and compared to the cells that were ok and I don't see a connection there)?

    Hi Amber

I set the macro to ignore some columns and some rows to speed things up.

    Maybe I shouldn't have.

I will tweak the file and repost it for you.

The macro above works for me.

But I have added a few lines to ensure that it is always working on the correct sheet.
