Quick way to copy a block of text to a string variable during development.

I have a text file with maybe 1000 chars of text and I'm trying to find a way to copy that text into a string variable during code dev. Is there a quick way to do this?
I'm aware that I can open the text file during runtime and read it into the string variable but that's not how I want to do it.

This code will read the contents of cell R8C8 ( Row 8 Column 8) ie H8 in sheet1 of workbook Book1 on the desktop.
