    Email in outlook to trigger Macro in Excel

    Hi All,

    I am trying to create a macro that does the below:

    An email is recieved in Outlook with the subject heading "RUN MACRO"
    This triggers Outlook to run a macro i have in a Excel File "FILE A"

    Help would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

    Also if on a bonus, if it could be run without Outlook even being open?

    you apparently have the macro already in your excel file, so you can call it on workbook open.
    You first have to create a rule for when receiving the email (Rules under Home tab)
    under the developer tab (in outlook) you have a straight forward VB available where you code your requesrted actions
    then let outlook open the file.

    Thanks Hulpeloos,

    The Macro does work however I am not able assign this Macro to the Outlook Rules.

    It wont recognise the macro.

    DO i need to change something in my setting so that If i send an email it will trigger this macro.
