I am training in medical transcription. I have started a list of medications I commonly come across while typing dictations, using Microsoft Excel 2007. This list is getting long, and it will keep getting longer. What I have done is created 4 columns: Brand Name, Generic Name, Therapeutic Category, and Description. The medications are sorted alphabetically, according to Brand name. Often, I find myself looking for the generic name of the drug, but sometimes I get the brand name. What I would like to do is incorporate a search bar at the top of the worksheet to allow me to search for the generic name (since that column is not sorted alphabetically). I know I could use the auto-sort function, but the search function would make things faster, and as I will get paid by piecework, I need to be speedy. Any suggestions on how I could program such a feature would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
