How do I determine the languge in a single cell?

I have a spreadsheet that was imported from a survey and a small number of the answers are not in English.
There are numerous examples of how to translate cells via Google but I cannot find any way to determine if the cell even needs to be translated. As there are a lot of cells and I don't know the language used in the answer I need a method to determine the source language quickly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Investigate using spell check.

My take on this would be: If I don't understand it then it needs to be translated. You can copy/paste in Google search just about anything in any language and you will find clues in what language is it.

Re: How do I determine the languge in a single cell?

Sorry, if this comes up twice, having refresh problems today.

I originally looked at this as a method but to determine if it was a different language as opposed to misspelled then I had to do a split on the cell to get the word, put each word in a cell and do a spellcheck, then if more than 80% are misspelled do a translate and repeat the check.

It works for a small amount of text but when you get into the thousands of lines with significant amounts of text in each cell it becomes very slow.

It cannot be an interactive method either so doing the whole cell at once, which results in the typical spell check box, is also unavailable.

    Thanks
