TO Immediately locate the file which my boss send to me

Dear friends

After lot of firing from my boss , i finally hoped i could solve my problem over here...

My manager and other seniors send a lot of files to my system every day with different file names
All of a sudden he will come and ask" where is the file which i sent yesterday? ,,as plenty of files with a lot of different
names which are saved in a lot of folders i struggle to find out a particular file immediately ..

i knew that there r vb codes like datelastmodified and datelastcreated etc

Is there any macro to classify the files according to the dates and time

ex ...whatevr files which are created/modified yesterday in the drive D should be collected in a folder with name as yesterday date
similarly whatevr files which are created/modified today should be collected in an another folder with name as todays date ..
then we can esly pick up the files our bosses are asking

i hope such kind of macro will be useful to a lot of people like me to escape from their bosses

????? why not just create a daily folder and save a copy each day

hai martin you are right but daily over 50 files come from head office and regional office and then from the same office also ....sometimes i frgt to put it in the daily folder
due to lack of time ...

Otherwise : did you know that in Windows Explorer you can sort files on date?

Hi, catchnanan,

if you use Outlook as mail client there should be code around which will save the excel workbooks to a daily folder when they arrive.
