    Highly elusive Column A..

Problem: Can't seem to 'unhide' Column A despite using all online suggestions. May be tied to macro creation.

I've inserted A1 in the Name Box and then Go To A1. I have successfully arrived at A1 I know because the contents of A1 are displayed in the content window next to the Name Box. I've gone to Visibility under Home-Cells-Format and clicked on Unhide columns to no avail. I have re-sized column A width to 14 and still can't see it. I've merged it with Column B, and while the contents migrated from A, the merged column remained Column B. It has become a battle of wills. I'm ready to get a crayon and write "A" on my screen. Also, this is a work project and I can just see my boss going--'uh, where's column A?' and me going 'uh, Phoenix?' Anyway, I created three macros and three buttons to activate them. The buttons were in column B and the descriptions of each were in column A. I can't remember how I managed to hide Column A in the first place, which I know doesn't help. Did I manage the impossible and permanently delete column A? thanks all.

    Straw,

    Welcome to the forum!
If possible, can you upload a copy of the book with sensitive data removed so that we can take a look at it? To upload a file click Go Advanced, then click the paperclip icon to open the Manage Attachments dialogue.
    Hope that helps,
    ~tigeravatar

You could simply copy the offending sheet to a new workbook, we only need to see the one where column A can't be accessed. You could also try to zip file and then upload the .zip

    Solved!
So happy; thank you Tigeravatar for your efforts with me. Just before lifting the sheet to send to you separately, I tried going to A1:B1, then clicking 'Hide Columns' and then 'Unhide Columns' under Home-Cells-Format-Visibility-Hide and Unhide, and voila. Don't know why but I have my Column A again. Thank you.
