    Retain Formatting

    Hi all,

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

I have a master document that has colors, fonts, varying column widths etc. It is a list of projects we are working on throughout the year. I have a kind of matrix built into this with each member of staff's name in a column and the managers put in a 1 if that member of staff is involved in the project.

I want to recreate this document into 20 new sheets, one for each member of our staff, customized to only show the projects they are involved in. I know how to do that with IF formula, but... I also want the formatting to move over. For example, if the master document has a red background, when it shows up in the individuals person's tab I want it to still be red. Some of the cells don't contain any text, just shaded backgrounds. The background color is very important.

Googling on this I see this is not possible by formula. I found a similar previous thread about this with some code I have put into the 'view code' section on the sheet but it isn't working

I am completely new to macros but determined to learn!

    Grateful for any help.

    Jennie

Do you have any raw data to take as an example? Please be sure to remove any sensitive information

    Re: Retain Formatting

    Hi,

    Sure!

Here is an attached copy with the project names and staff names changed. So each project is shaded in to show where it falls within the year and also on the right hand side which staff will be involved with the project. I now want to make 20 new sheets customized for each member of staff to only show the projects that they are working on. I was going to do this with IF formula and then go in and deleted all the blank rows. The IF formula though don't retain any of the formating or show the background colors which is crucial for the calendar part of it.

    Thanks!
