How do you write VBA to select Data Validation?

Hello,

I am using data validation for a list of names to choose from. Once the name has been choosen, I would like to clear the name by clicking a button. I would like for the Clear Name button to choose the first name in the list, which I have purposely left blank for this reason. However, when I recorded the macro, it did not record my click on the drop-down-arrow to select the first name in the list (which is blank). Why did it not record my selection? Is there a way in VBA to select a particular name from my list? Thanks!
