excel 2013 and autocad 2013 LT

Heres the deal. I need to create an excel file that will be populated from Autocad. it will need to get attributed text from a list of drawings. what i am not wanting to do is have to open every file, I would like excel to open the selected files get the data and populate the excel spreadsheet.

I know this can be done, where I worked before had something just like this. my only problem is I didn't get a copy of it when I got laid off, and the fact that I am using autocad LT now.

    Please help. thank you.

    The basic idea.
    1 - Open excel
2 - Select files to get data from
    3 - Populate excel spreadsheet.

Assuming AutoCAD has a COM interface (so it can be automated via VBA in Excel), you'd probably be better off in an AutoCAD forum to learn how to retrieve the data. Sticking it on a worksheet is easy.
