Variable comments based on cell value

Hello,

I would like to ask if there is some code that will let me create, edit or delete comments for cells with formula that are changing base on selection in other cell.

To better describe what I mean I attach file. In sheet "Sample output v1" I selected in cell "D5" value X, and based on that formulas in cells below are changing. Now I want to add or change my comments below (like in cell E9 and E15). But than when I change selection in cell "D5" again, I want to see (add/edit and delete) comments valid to this selection. Outcome is showed in sheet "Sample output v2" where I have different comments in different cells.

Is there any way how to do this?

What are your criteria for determining which cells need comments changed? What is the source of the comment text?

Hi Olly,

there is no external source for comments. My goal is to insert comment(s) in some cell(s) when I have selected one of options in cell "D5" and than when I change value in "D5" I don't want to see these comments but insert new ones.

I think it could work like this:
-record comments where they were added (comment and position) and what was selection in "D5" in some other sheet
-record and track new comments and changes of old comment on that sheet
-based on these records show only comments valid for specific selection in cell "D5"

But I'm not sure how to write such code..
