Auto Archive & Drop Down Macro Query

    Hi All,
I am new and this is my first post!
I am having a significant amount of difficulty trying to get a couple of things working in excel. Firstly I would like to run a macro from the selection of a drop down box value...is this possible?

Secondly, I would also like to 'do something'! that allows the data within a sheet to be archived weekly.... so that the original sheet then turns blank but the data from the previous week has been archived for reference?

Any advice is gratefully received, any VB instructions step by step please...!
    Many thanks
    Andy

Hi, andy_marcos. When you say that you would like to run the macro based on the drop down box, do you mean the user would select the item in the box and then initiate the macro? Or would you like it to fire as soon as they make a choice?

Thanks for the speedy reply! I would prefer it to run automatically if possible, as soon as they have made the choice...
    Thanks

To the mod, my apologies, clicked Reply just a second before seeing your post...

So you could do something like this:

Create your drop down list, with whatever items you would like (I used Test1,Test2).
Right click on the sheet name and choose "View Code" or open the VBA editor manually and go to that sheet
On the sheet, do something like this:

B2 is just where I created my drop down list. Use whatever Cell you create your drop down list on.
