Application.DisplayAlerts = False does not work

I have a program that opens other workbooks to copy over data, when opening the workbooks I get the message "The workbook contains links to other data sources". I have used Application.DisplayAlerts = False in the code before opening ht eworkbooks but it does not suppress this message.
Is there anythinjg else I can do to stop these alerts?
