Search number quickly

Dear friends,
I have serial numbers in column 'b' range 'b8:b5007' from 1-5000. I have to edit the data sometimes. I want to do it by quickly searching the serial number of that entry in a single click to save my time. Can you please suggest me a macro to perform this action in a single click quickly?

I want to enter the search serial number in a search box and then in a single click go to that particular number is my requirement. Do suggest me acode for it.

Thank you in anticipation.

Mukesh

Hello mukeshbaviskar,

The attached workbook has the following macro installed. There is a button at the top of the worksheet to call it. Rows 1 to 7 are frozen so the headers remain visible while you scroll down the list. If the requested serial number can not be found, the macro will inform you. You can also add more serial numbers without changing the macro.

Another option that does not require VBA is to use the Find/Replace in excel. press CTL H, enter the number, tab, enter the replacement - done
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Re: Search number quickly

Hi Mumps1,
Thank you. It's working fine but one little problem is that the cursor didn't go to that particular cell in which the number is. Only the page scrolls and shows the number. I want to select the particular cell in which the number is.

Please do this revision.

Thank you.

Re: Search number quickly

Hello Leith Ross,
Excellent! It's working fine. I need a little modification in your code to meet my requirement as follows:

After clicking on 'ok' the cursor should go to that particular cell in which the number is. At present the page scrolls and display the search number but the cursor didn't go to that cell.

Everything else is very correct. Please do this amendment in the code to meet my requirement.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mukesh

Hi Leith Ross,
I have added a line at the end of the code to move the cursor to that particular cell. Now my problem is solved.

Thank you very much for guiding me to solve my problem.

Thank you to all of you.

Sincerely,

Mukesh
