date & Timestamp for row on Protected & Shared workbook

Hello all my favorite Excel users! I need help again. Okay, first of all, I have spent a few days working on this issue... and everything I thought I solved it... I was wrong.

I am adapting a VBA code I found to create a date/time stamp when any cell within the row has a change. Now these are massivive spreadsheets, and our client designed them, so I can only add something to the end. The date/timestamp will be in Column DN. The data in Columns A - DL is my target range (anything changes in these cells must be accounted for). Before I forget, if there is any way possible to have VBA code also list the user name in column DO, that would be outstanding, and I would greatly appreciate it.

Okay, the code I have adapted to my needs is:

Okay, now for my issues that I want to make sure you are aware of:
    1) Most users are currently using Microsoft Excel 2003, but some use 2010, the file format I am using is "xls" (just in case you need to know this)
    2) This file is a shared & protected file (I manage this aspect)
    3) All data entry cells are unprotected, and formulas are protected (Both types reside in rows A - DL where my range is). If my protected formulas cause issue I am open to creating multiple ranges (there would be a few), as long as I know how to properly integrate them into the VBA code.

The VBA was working initially, then I protected and shared the file to test "live", and it did not work. Then I unshared and unprotected the file, and the VBA still wouldn't work. there is no way around protected and shared, this is the way it has to be for this file.

Your help is greatly appreciated. I just have no clue what to try. this was my very first "private" macro... so that took a bit of time to figure it out! Thanks again!
