Counting unique items on a list based on date in adjacent column

    Hello, All,

Im attempting to keep track of items on a list with unique ID numbers, such as 111C or 123C. Each unique ID also has an associated recieved date in an adjacent column. typically the whole list will have 2-3 recieve dates, and 10-30 unique ID's each associated with just one of those recieved dates. like this:
    ListwRecDate.PNG

my basic goal is to count the number of unique ID's associated with each date.

My ultimate goal is to display the recieved dates in a single cell, and, in another cell, display the total number of ID's from each recieved date concatenated(i believe this is the correct term for pasting multiple lines in a single cell). the destination sheet should look like this:
    inventorylog.PNG

this will all be part of an existing macro that fills information in other parts of the destination sheet. Im just having trouble figuring out counting based on the recieved date. Any clues are much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    M

Hi, Please attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

Re: Counting unique items on a list based on date in adjacent column

heres a stripped down version of the work book.

On sheet "A1_050709" the text in red shows the dates/counts im attempting to display.

the "dashboard" sheet is used to select from the "lot" lists and to run the macro which displays the "vial" input information on the sheet which corresponds to the "lot" dropdown.

on the "list" sheet, the red text is what im trying to count and display on the "A1_050709" sheet. the information in column N and O is simply for example and I havent written the macro to use that info yet.

I need help counting the vial#'s by recieved date.

please let me know if im not being clear. My knowledge of excel and VBA is quite limited and i'm learning as i go here

    thanks for reading
    -M

edit: apologies, my 1st upload did not include the red text i mentioned above.
