Save Text file as xls

Hi,

I have a folder in 'c:load'
A text file with today's date is dropped into it daily, for example for today there will be a file named '11072013.txt'.
These files are pipeline delimited(|).

My requirement is that i want a vba code which will save these text file as excel file(.xls or .xlsx).

I want to manually run this macro everyday for that day's text file to convert it to excel.

Can you please help me in writing this macro?

did you try recording a macro while loading that file ?

i dont think there is need to record macro, i just want to rename a text file with .xls or .xlsx in the given folder

did you try manually renaming a text file with .xls ? what about the result ?
you said you want save as xls, not rename as xls
