Installing timeout macro, but enabling another excel file to open

    Hello.

I have installed a macro that saves, and closes the file if the file is inactive for more than 15 minutes. The problem is, another excel file can't be opened becasue the macro is running constantly. Is there a way to run a macro in one file, but still be able to open another excel file? I am a macro rookie.

You can probably open a second instance of Excel by 'clicking' on the 'Excel Icon' that
opens 'Excel Only' and not 'Excel and an Excel file.'

When you do this you will probably get a message that says that 'PERSONAL.XLS' is locked
for editing. It is OK to open it as 'READ ONLY'.

There is also a 'registry' tweak that will open all Excel files in separate instances.

    I hope this helps.
