Need help testing a data connection

I couldn't tell if this was in the right forum... if not, feel free to move it if you like.

You can skip to the Test section at the bottom of this message.. it's the TL;DR of it.

    Excel 2010
I'm clicking Data Menu > From Text. Then I paste the URL in the file name field. Then click Open.

I've done this many times and it has worked in the past, but not in the last 2 days. It keeps giving me an error.
    Error:
    Select Data Source
    http://www.gw2spidy.com/api/v0.9/csv...rch/insignia/2
    Path does not exist.
Check the path and try again.

    Troublshooting:
I know the URL is correct, as I opened it in a browser and it retrieves the API data just fine. I an import it via the "From Web" instead of "From Text", but it doesn't sort the csv text into columns, the way From Text does.

So the URL is valid, there's nothing stopping excel from opening the page in an alternate fashion. I used to be able to do it with lots of other similar urls, but now any of them from that site can't be added. I also tried with a blank workbook (no difference), and on my laptop instead of desktop (no difference). I tried rebooting my modem with a new IP address in the DMZ with no firewall/AV software turned on(no difference).

I was actually having the error happen yesterday when I used that URL. so then I tried removing the "www", using http://gw2spidy.com/api/v0.9/csv/item-search/insignia/2 And this actually worked, but only ONCE. Then, any future attempts at it failed.

    Test:
I don't suppose anyone will know why... but it would help if someone could try adding the data connection on their machine and seeing if it is giving the error there as well.
Open a new sheet, click Data tab, From Text, paste in
Please Login or Register to view this content.
    and click Open.
If you get the error or not, please let me know.

Re: "Path does not exist" when adding Data Connection - please help test

    Bump no response..

Can anyone just do the test at the bottom and let me know if it works? Should just take a few seconds and might tell me a lot.
