How to record conditional formating on Macros

    Hi Guys,

Some time ago I created similar thread which now is marked solved (keep the forum tidy) and as a result of the previous thread the question arose:

How do you record conditional formatting on Macros?

I recorded Macros to do some rearrangement of the table but it should also adjust the conditional formatting, but it doesn't. When I open the Macros syntax there was no commands related to conditional formatting.

Could you please direct me to the right path?

    Thanks guys

Recording CF works for me. Quick example of the code produced:

Re: How to record conditional formating on Macros

I seem to remember reading a few years ago that the macro recorder in Excel 2007 does not have the ability to record setting up conditional formatting - perhaps that also applies to XL2010.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi OllyXLS,

I copied your code into excel and it doesn't do anything apart of showing error and aksing me to debug it. Because I don't know a lot about writing the commans I don't have a clue what it wants from me.

I equally don't have a clue what you're trying to achieve, so it's difficult to advise!

Maybe start again, explaining exactly what it is you are trying to do, show us the code you already have, attach a workbook if possible.

Then we can advise on exactly what to do, rather than just showing examples of recorded code.

Re: How to record conditional formating on Macros

You have a very good point. I managed to half solved the problem by going deep into the forum. Apparently in order for Macro to record conditional formating you need to press 'New Rule'. It doesn't record adjusting the conditional formating.

Anyhow I attached the spreadsheet, and when you press Macro6 you will get what I want to achieve. You will also see that conditional fomating doesn't work.

Macro11 however recorded the conditional formating. What I need to do now is to change the syntax to always refer the cell AS5 from 'Actual training plan' sheet. I tried to do it, but it doesn't work.
