    Mircrosoft Visual Basic: Unspecified Error

    Hi Forum,

I'm hoping someone may have some knowledge they could share about a recent error I've been receiving. I have a fairly involved userform with a 100+ controls. I'm no longer able to add new controls to my userform and receive the attached error message. Does anybody know if there is a maximum # of controls that can be added to a userform? Or, maybe any other reason I would be receiving the attached error message when trying to add a new control to my userform? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    -MileHigh_PhD

ps. I'm working with MS Excel 2011 (Mac)

How are you adding the controls? Can you post the code that adds them?

Hi Kyle123, thanks for the response. I'm adding the controls via the toolbox function while viewing the userform object. I'm not actually writing code to add the controls to the userform...

Which version of OSX do you run and which build of Office 2011 - do you have 14.3.9? If you run Mavericks you should have 14.3.9 because it contains some compatibility patches.

However 100 controls on a userform in Mac excel does not sound good to me.

Hi Izandol, thanks for the reply. I am running OSX Mavericks & Excel 2011 v14.3.9. Any other ideas?

Regrettably an 'unspecified error' does not provide many clues. Is it possible to put the workbook here for testing?

Thanks for the reply Izandol. It seems that there is some magic number of controls you can have on a userform, however I'm unsure of the exact #. I think I've been able to workaround the issue by deleting unnecessary controls, so that I can add the additional ones I needed. As far as the magic number is concerned, it appears all controls (i.e. labels, textboxes, checkboxes, comboboxes, frames, etc...) are considered equal. I was able to delete some labels and add the comboboxes & checkboxes I needed.
