Convert Date (i.e. 8/1/2013) to Text Month (i.e. August)

I have a column of dates in a table and I'd like to convert the value to the month (i.e. as text).

I tried doing this, and although the month appears in the cell, the actual value is still a date.

I'm sure there is a way to write this shorter but it works this way

    Untested, but you can try:

Note that your existing date will be lost.

this assumes the 2 columns to the right of the table are empty as it uses those to store temporary transforming formula.

If not you will need to loop through and change each value.
