VBA to show grey text in a range of blank cells

    Hello,

I'm trying to get some descriptive text to show in a number of blank cells. But have spent hours trying to find out how to solve my problem to with no satisfactory result.

But it needs to be applicable for more than one cell, I need to apply this to a whole column or even better a number of ranges e.g. F22-F25, F30:F35, F40:F46 etc.

The default text needs to show in grey but when text is inputted into these cells the formatting needs to be editable.

I'm thinking this can only be solved by a VBN but any way will do as long as it works!

Excel has a function called "Go to"
CRTL plus G, then special, tick the blank option will highlight all blank cells. You can use the CRTL key to select and deselect the range and do what ever you want.

If you want a prompt, you could have the text in the "blank" cells, although, strictly they're not blank. You could use a selection change event handler to clear the grey prompt text when you select the cell.
