Select a shape based on a cell value and update the shape when value changes

Hello,

I am trying to create a Gantt chart without using conditional formatting. On my worksheet named wksMain, I have a rows for tasks where the start month is selected from a drop-down box. The end month is also selected via a drop-down box. I am also calculating the duration for each task. For example, if start month is Jan 2014 and the end month is Mar 2014, then the duration in 3.

I have 12 shapes on another sheet named, wksShapes. Based on the value 3 from the noted example above, I want to be able to select Shape3 from the wksShapes sheet and place it in the column for the start month on the wksMain sheet. If the start month for the task is changed to Feb 2014 and the end month is also changed to Nov 2014 for example, the duration changes to 10 and I need the shape to change to Shape10 and appear in the start column, Feb 2014.

Have you tried adding VLOOKUP to your duration formula to transform the number to a shape?

I need the shape to show up in the start month so I tried using a VLOOKUP in the month columns but simply get '0' as a result.
