HI
My guys at work want to input data as follows into a cell.
4-5 or 3-2-1
How can I break this into 2 or 3 cells. The format being the first cell is for Feet, 2nd cell is for Inches and the 3rd cell is for quarters of an inches if necessary. Is there a function that can do that do this.

Oh, one more issue
other examples of data input could be
13-2-1
13-11-0
12-2-3
So the first two numbers could be 1or 2 digits while the third number is only 1 digit long.
You can use text to columns to achieve this. But if you are interested in formulas, assuming that you have text in A1, try these formulas

If you third number is of only 1 digit you can use following formula in D1
